Thuasne® confirms its international development strategy
The French medical device manufacturer takes another major step in its global expansion by announcing the acquisition of Medical Rehab, a mobility supplier specialized in rehabilitation technology. This acquisition will enable Thuasne to bring its solutions to market directly for the treatment of lymphedema and indirectly (via distributors) for orthopedics and plebology.
Medical Rehab’s arrival in the Group represents a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the presence of Thuasne® internationally and consolidating its relationship with healthcare professionals and patients in this highly dynamic Asia-Pacific region. This latest acquisition dovetails with the ambition of Thuasne® to become one of the world’s top five players on the medical device market.
The Thuasne® Pacific subsidiary will cover an extensive area including Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. This second subsidiary in Asia- Pacific will complement Thuasne®’s current presence in China, which also covers Japan and South Korea.
Anthony Herry, general manager of Thuasne® Pacific, sees it as being the nerve center of this zone. He asserts: “Setting up this subsidiary on the far side of the globe shows the strength and leadership capacity of Thuasne® on the international stage.”
