Operations manager - Germany

Can you tell us about your career with Thuasne®?

I joined Thuasne® in 2008 as logistics manager at the Burgwald site in Germany. As my arrival coincided with the acquisition of Thämert, I regularly traveled to Burgwedel to merge the two entities' logistics departments. In 2012, after the creation of a warehouse in Isernhagen, I took over the management of the made-to-measure customer service department in Burgwald. And since 2017, I've been in charge of the Burgwald site, named ”Competence Center Compression”.

What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

There are around 75 of us on the site. We manage the orders received and the production of products for orthopedic stores and clinics. My role is to support the teams in carrying out our missions. Our biggest challenge is to deliver to customers as quickly as possible, to ensure the best patient care.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Without a doubt, the variety of assignments! Varying projects allows you to grow every day and learn new things. There's no room for boredom. I'm also lucky enough to work with a great team, and that's priceless.

What are your major challenges?

Digitalizing processes and reducing our carbon footprint. Our aim is to integrate digital technology wherever possible, in order to offer good working conditions and improve productivity and service levels. With the installation of solar panels on our site, we also aim to reduce our environmental impact. 30% of the energy we consume is supplied by these panels.

Which project are you most proud of?

There are two projects. The one I'm naturally thinking of is the creation of the Isernhagen warehouse in 2012, which enabled the Group to structure its logistics activity in Germany. I'm also thinking of the launch of an application for healthcare professionals to order tailor-made products.

What do you consider to be the most important assets in your profession?

I'd say resilience. I'm passionate about sports, especially mountain biking, a discipline that requires strength and stamina. These are qualities that drive me on a daily basis and help me to set an example.

Varying projects allows you to grow every day and learn new things.
