Portrait of Laura
Can you tell us about your professional background?
I am a knitting and textile engineering engineer with a degree from the engineering faculty in Arad (Romania). I started my career in 2001 as a production assistant in t- shirt making, before becoming a production merchandiser in 2004, leading a small team and working with brands like Quiksilver, The North Face and Animal. In 2009, I diversified my experience by turning to medical device production.
Can you tell us more about your history with Thuasne®?
I joined Thuasne®, and more specifically Textile Medicale, at the end of 2009 as Head of Phlebology, which I managed until 2020. I then had the opportunity to gradually expand my responsibilities. From 2020 to 2022, I coordinated production in the Phlebology and Traumatology sectors, as well as the Methods and Industrialization department. Since 2022, I have been Managing Director of Textile Medicale. My mission is to organize and manage the activity to achieve production objectives, while ensuring compliance with quality requirements and the implementation of the Group’s quality policy.
What have the most important moments been in your career?
Several projects have been important, but relocating the Phlebology sector to the new plant in 2015 particularly comes to mind, when the production of medical stockings was really structured and developed on the site. Then, during the 2020 pandemic, when all the other factories in the western Arad industrial are – where we are located and where thousands of people work – were shut down, our team was mobilized to produce the essential masks. It was a significant moment, with a strong sense of being useful and supportive.
What are the highlights of your time spent at Thuasne ® ?
At the beginning of my career at Thuasne®, I was fortunate to work with the former R&D Manager for straight knitting, a real fountain of wisdom! He often talked to me about intelligence, discipline and rigor, emphasizing the last two points. Today, I can tell you that his advice serves me every day, sometimes more than I thought it would!
Do you have any final thoughts?
I would simply say that I am grateful for this journey and for all the people who have accompanied me. And if I can give a tip, it would be to always stay curious,
“I am grateful for this journey and to all the people who have accompanied me.”
