Career path Marley
Can you tell us about your career path?
During my studies, I had the opportunity to complete a one-year internship in the Human Resources (HR) department of a large insurance group. That’s where I first explored areas like recruitment, payroll, and employee benefits. I then worked as an HR assistant in a nursing home with 160 employees. That experience helped me quickly grow in several hands-on areas. Two years later, in 2011, I joined Knit-Rite.
How did this new chapter start for you?
I started as an HR generalist with a wide range of responsibilities: recruitment, payroll, benefits, employee relations, and compliance. Four years later, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of HR manager and lead the company’s HR team. This step allowed me to broaden my skills and take on leadership responsibilities.
In 2021, Knit-Rite joined Thuasne®. How did that transition go?
It was a pivotal moment. My focus was to support the teams throughout the change. Change often brings uncertainty, so I emphasized communication, listening, and support. Together, we managed to preserve the best of both cultures and build a stronger foundation.
Did your role evolve after the acquisition?
Yes, it quickly took on a broader scope. I started working with the global HR team, which helped me discover new tools and best practices. I also collaborated with other U.S. entities to align our processes and build a more unified national HR strategy.
And today, what is your role within the Group?
I’m now the HR director for Thuasne® North America. My role has become more strategic and international. I take part in cross-functional projects with a global impact. For example, I’m involved in the Thuasne® Link project, which involves rolling out Workday, our future global HRIS*. It’s a major step forward for all employees, with unified processes, centralized data, and an improved HR experience. It’s been a great opportunity for both professional and personal growth. I feel more connected to the Group’s vision—it’s truly exciting!
What keeps you motivated every day?
The people! I love the diversity of interactions across teams, roles, and countries. Each day is unique. Supporting employees, helping managers, working alongside international colleagues—it's that human connection that really drives me.
What is your proudest professional moment?
Seeing my team grow. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch colleagues gain confidence, take on new challenges, and succeed. Knowing I helped create an environment where that growth is possible is something I’m truly proud of. I’m excited to see what the future holds!
